The Orange Giraffe Project proudly partners with the Creative Center to offer a four-session course in jewelry design. The Orange Giraffe Project is an organization dedicated to promoting the expression of beauty while healing through jewelry design.

Design inspiration can come from virtually anywhere: a movie, a photograph, or even a dream. In this series, it is about allowing yourself to go inward to discover your own aesthetic and then translate this into a wearable piece of art that can be abstract, stylized, realistic or representative.

Courses are designed specifically for participants who may be new to jewelry as a medium, therefore the only prerequisite is the desire to learn. Focus will be placed less on learning specific techniques and more on the design process. By participating in exercises that are as empowering and challenging as they are therapeutic, participants will find that their one-of-a-kind jewelry is merely one feature of the course.

During this course, participants will collaborate with jewelry designers from the New York area. Together they will co-design unique pieces which the participants will be able to take home with them at the end of the course. The final piece of jewelry will be hand-made by the partnering jewelry designer.

The course will conclude with an artist's exhibition and cocktail hour or luncheon, sponsored by the Orange Giraffe Project, and participants will get the chance to share their designs and inspirations with one another.
